The expansion of the Lucerna wastewater treatment plant in Västervik includes the construction of reinforced concrete reactor tanks, sedimentation chambers and process basins as part of an investment to almost double the plant’s capacity. The treatment plant, originally built in 1972, is being modernized to meet stricter environmental standards and to handle increasing volumes of wastewater. By introducing modern treatment technologies, the project will help improve water quality in the Baltic Sea.
